Number Place

The number-placement logic puzzle on a 9×9 grid. Every puzzle is generated fresh and checked to have exactly one solution, in three difficulties. Pencil notes, undo and a count of the digits left on the keypad help you along, and a puzzle in progress is saved on this device.

How to play

Fill the grid so that every row, every column and every 3×3 block holds the digits 1 to 9, each exactly once. The bold white digits are given and cannot be changed. Tap an empty cell, then a digit on the keypad. Turn on Notes to write small candidate digits in a cell; placing a digit removes it from the notes in its row, column and block. A digit that clashes with another in the same row, column or block turns red. The keypad shows how many of each digit are left to place. Beginner starts with about 41 givens, Intermediate about 33 and Advanced about 27. Your best time and solved puzzles are kept for each difficulty.

Controls

Touch or mouse: tap a cell, then a digit. ⌫ Erase clears a cell, ↶ Undo takes back a move, ✎ Notes switches to candidates. Keyboard: arrow keys move, 1–9 enter a digit, 0, Backspace or Delete clears, N switches notes, U or Z undoes.
