Snake

The classic snake game in 20 stages. Steer the snake to the apples and grow longer with each one, without running into a wall or your own tail. Every stage has its own walls and speed; clear it with lives to spare for up to three stars. Your progress is kept on this device.

How to play

The snake keeps moving forward; you choose where it turns. Steer it to the apple. Each apple makes it one square longer, and a new apple appears somewhere else. Running into a wall or into the snake's own body costs a life, and the snake starts again from the left of the board. The apples you have already eaten still count. Eat the number of apples shown at the top to clear the stage. You have three lives in each stage: the lives you have left when you clear it are your stars. Lose all three and the stage starts over. Clearing a stage opens the next. Later stages have more walls, need more apples, and the snake moves faster. The snake waits at the start until your first turn, and after a pause or a lost life it waits again, so you are never caught out.
